After a Baccalaureate in Literature and History at the Saint-Paul Jesuit boarding school in Belgium, Francis spent a year with a bank manager's family in British Columbia, Canada, where he studied journalism as a major. He carried out his higher education with a Bachelor's degree in industrial design at the Institut Saint Luc Higher Education in Arts in Liège, Belgium, and earned a Master's degree from the university of Kent, UK. During his studies, he worked as an interpreter. Francis worked as a freelance interior designer and relocated to Milan, Italy, to work as a web developer before being awarded the first prize in the discontinued Shonan Design competition. He later joined Sector Group (now Morellato & Sector) to patent and produce his invention, and to specialize as a horological designer. During his 8 years in Italy, Francis also worked as a voice-over artist, wrote a few articles for a collaborative blog renamed Racialicious, and trained as a goldsmith at the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana. In October 2007, the experienced horological designer relocated to Switzerland, to start working for one of the major watch companies. Francis is now 35 years old, and he has been working in product design for more than 10 years. |
